2017 MDOT/MAA Bus Tour

On October 2, 2017, MAA member, Carmeuse Lime & Stone, hosted the 2017 Annual MDOT/MAA bus tour at their Calcite Operation in Rogers City.

With over 45 representatives from MDOT and the Michigan Aggregates Association in attendance, Carmeuse Lime & Stone provided an overview about the many processes that are implemented to ensure limestone meets MDOT specifications.  During the tour, participants were informed about blasting, material transfer, processing, quality control measures, stock pile management and vessel loading.

Networking events like these provide a wonderful opportunity to inform our MDOT partners about the numerous measures taken by MAA members to ensure that aggregate material will meet MDOT’s many infrastructure needs for future generations.
