Community Involvement
Great Lakes Aggregates is proud to sponsor many local and various organizations and clubs. All year long we are doing things out in the community. The following is a list our Sylvania Minerals and Recycled Aggregates locations are involved in.
• Financially Support Scouts BSA
• Financially Support Brian Terry Foundation
• Financially Support various Military and Veteran groups
• Financially Support local High School clubs and athletics
• Donate to Toys For Tots
• Financially Support local First Responders in the communities we operate from – South Rockwood, Taylor, Highland Park
• Adopts multiple families in need during Thanksgiving and Christmas
• Donate pumpkins to local elementary schools during the fall for crafting projects
• Recycled Agg landscapes and cleans the local football field for youth Highland Park football team and community use.
• Recycled Agg works closely with the Joe Louis Greenway Project – new portion of the walkway will be implemented next to the Highland Park property.
• Customer and First responder appreciation days at Sylvania, Taylor, Highland Park. We invite local government officials and departments (police, fire,
and EMTS)
• Annual 5K Walk/Run at Sylvania Minerals – Proceeds goes to local Friends of Village group.
• Local scholarship to high school student or students
• Tours for schools in the district at Sylvania
• Geology clubs tour at Sylvania
• Local bee farm King Farms on the property
