In 2022, Sylvania Minerals partnered with a local bee keeper, King Honey Farm to place multiple hives on the quarry property. The honey produced from the hives was donated to the local community. E.C. Korneffel making great progress on the shoals surrounding Celeron Island near Grosse Ile, MI. Limestone rip-rap from Sylvania Minerals Quarry in South Rockwood, MI is used in constructing the shoals.
